Every project has its weak spots - here’s how to show them
Smart visuals turn flaws into strengths, without bending the truth.
Temptations…resist the urge!
Every project has its awkward bits - poor orientation, lack of landscaping, tricky neighbours. The challenge is showing these honestly without letting them undermine your scheme.
The temptation is to “cheat”: hiding context, shifting the sun, even lopping off a storey. But there’s a difference between enhancement and deception. Cross the line, and you risk planning delays, lost trust, and occupiers walking away.

It’s on a road, but look at the views!
Judging books by their covers…
People believe what they see. If visuals suggest bright, spacious interiors or a sympathetic streetscape, stakeholders take that at face value.
But when reality doesn’t match, the consequences can be serious:
Planning refusals or revisions.
Marketing backlash from tenants who feel mis-sold.
Reputation damage that casts doubt over the whole development.

No hiding that the rooms overlook a railway.
“I have a cunning plan”
Good archviz doesn’t need to cheat. Instead, it makes smart use of things like:
Camera placement to highlight strengths and downplay distractions.
Lighting and timing that show spaces at their best - but realistically.
Balanced context that acknowledges the surroundings without letting them dominate.
Reframing weaknesses as opportunities: authenticity, vibrancy, or character.
The result is persuasive storytelling that builds confidence while staying grounded in reality.

Use of lighting and perspective to add drama.
Closing Thoughts
Enhancements are expected. Cheating is not. With the right visuals, even the trickiest projects can be shown in their best light - honestly, effectively, and without the risk of disappointment later.
No design is perfect. Every site has its ‘rubbish bits’. In fact, almost every project we’ve worked on in the past 27 years has had its share of challenges. But we’ve always found ways to overcome them - delivering visual tools that not only solve problems but help projects succeed. Think of us as a Swiss army knife for visualisation: versatile, reliable, and ready for whatever your scheme throws at us.
